Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What is SnirtStopper?

The Snirt Stopper is a very unique and effective garage door seal. It is designed to keep out the snow, ice and dirt = “Snirt”. It will save you money in energy cost by keeping cold air/warm air infiltration out of your garage or commercial building.

  2. How does SnirtStopper work?

SnirtStopper works because it is manufactured with an upper tab, foam core and a flexible bottom tab. The top tab is screwed to the inside bottom of your garage door. This tab is adjusted to so that the foam core and bottom tab is able to fill in up to 1.5 to 2.0 inches of space underneath your door. The bottom tab remains flexible and keeps the foam core tight under the door when the bottom tab is pinched under the bottom of the door. There is no other door seal like it manufactured anywhere. The bottom tab and flexible foam core actually make a larger and more effective seal than the narrow vinyl seal under most garage doors made today.

  3. Is it easy to install?

Yes, you can watch our installation video on our website at: www.snirtstopper.com. If you have a few basic tools and a helper, you can install the door seal in as little as 10 minutes. Even if you don’t have a helper, you can still install the door seal yourself. Each Snirt Stopper comes with an easy to follow, set of instructions and all the fasteners need to attach to the seal to your garage door.

  4. How long do SnirtStopper seals last?

SnirtStopper Garage Door Seal is made out of quality materials. It is made out of a very durable, 13 ounce vinyl/rubber coated fabric. The same material that many commercial semi truck tarps are made out of. These tarps survive the day to day demands of truckers driving down the road at highway speeds, in many different weather conditions (sun, rain, sleet, snow and ice). The SnirtStopper is very durable. This material is water/weather resistant and the stitching is tough and durable.

  5. Will the Snirt Stopper freeze down to my garage floor during the winter or if my floor is wet and cold?

Ice will still form, but the SnirtStopper Garage Door Seal is unique because its bottom tab actually gives and lifts up when the door is opened. Because it “gives” and the bottom tab is “flexible” it actually peels away from the floor and will not rip due to ice.

  6. Will the Snirt Stopper save me money in heating costs if I heat my garage, or keep my garage warmer if I don’t heat it?

Yes, we hired an energy engineer to perform an energy efficiency audit on our garage door seal. The bottom line, if you heat a garage or just want to keep less cold air from getting into your garage because you have a poor door seal…..this product will help save you money. Check our website for more details.

  7. What kind of warranty comes with my Snirt Stopper?

We warrant SnirtStopper door seals to be free of defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 25 years after purchase and will repair or replace defective seals at our discretion. This warranty applies only to the original purchaser and does not extend to any person that acquires a Warranted Product on a used basis.

  8. Where is SnirtStopper made?

We are proud to say that our products are made completely in the USA using US and imported materials!

  9. How do I order?

Ordering is fast and easy! Simply measure the width and height of the door you want to seal, select the closest corresponding size from our site, pick your color, add the product to the cart and pay with your credit card or PayPal using our secure checkout page. You’ll receive an email invoice after ordering to confirm your order. We’ll pack and ship the order as quickly as possible and send a tracking number as soon as your order ships.

  10. What types of doors does it work on?

SnirtStopper BottomSealer and Side and TopSealer works on practically any type of door, including walk-in doors, standard garage overhead doors, barn doors, roll-up doors, bi-fold doors, hydro-swing doors and more. The simplicity of design makes it easy to install on a number of door designs.

  11. How do I measure my door?

For BottomSealer, just measure the width of your door. For SideSealer and TopSealer, measure the width and height. Most doors fall within standard sizes, and we try to make sure we represent these standard sizes in our order charts. However, if your door is not a standard size, you can simply purchase any seal by the foot!

  12. Is the seal cut exactly to length or is there any extra?

To ensure a good fit and make installation as easy as possible, we include a small amount of overage when cutting each order. This allows the seal to be trimmed for each individual installation for a tight fit.

  13. Who do you ship with?

In order to save our customers money on shipping costs, we use a number of shipping companies depending on quoted prices at the time of order. We may use FedEx, UPS, USPS, DHL or SpeeDee Delivery, among others.

  14. Can SnirtStopper be used on new doors?

Absolutely! SnirtStopper comes in a wide selection of colors to match any door color and we even include color-matched screws. So, SnirtStopper can trim out any door, old or new, giving the door a neat, clean installation.
